Summer's out, school's in!

The end of summer brings so many things: new classes, old friends, and chillier days to name a few. Gone are the days of long hot days where the only thing you can imagine eating is a big ol' ice cream cone.

One of the wonderful perks of fall is the ushering in of delicious new produce that is finally back in season. Time to give up fruit salads of blueberries, strawberries and melons. Substitute those summertime fruits for apples (go apple picking!), grapes and pineapple. Green beans, cucumbers, and radishes are officially out of season. Instead, opt for brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and butternut squash.

One of the most important things to keep in mind when eating organically and locally is to also eat seasonally! Happy eating!
