Starbucks goes from Basic to Butterbeer

The cup does not look any different from any other Starbucks cup, but it is truly special. Starbucks released a Butterscotch Latte that people are going crazy over because it tastes like Butterbeer, from the delightful world of Harry Potter!

Being a bit of a Potterhead myself, I knew I had to try it. There are actually two options for the beverage, a Butterscotch Latte and the cold version, a Butterscotch Frappuccino. I decided to try the latte version, just because that seemed more ~authentic~ and also because it was a really cold, rainy day.

I bought the drink and waited until I was at home, in front of my desk before I took the first sip; I was very scared of being disappointed. But it was great. Just fabulous. Not too sweet, but with definite flavors of butterscotch, especially towards the end of the drink as the flavor shots settle. It’s one of the very best examples of wizard ingenuity being made better by muggles- Butterbeer with caffeine!

This is now one of my favorite drinks that Starbucks offers. Many people are suggesting that when you get the frap, to ask to forgo the espresso shot, so that the flavor is more sweet than coffee- based.
