Toasted Graham Latte is Giving the "PSL" a Run For Its Money

Fall is here, and that means PUMPKIN EVERYTHING! We’ve come to expect an attack of pumpkin spice with the arrival of fall until this year. Starbucks, one of the ultimate praisers of pumpkin, just released a new drink this season for the first time in four years.

Developers of the drink wanted it to still have the sweet, inviting flavors that Starbucks’ current drinks have, but like no other cafes have done before. They did this by pulling from a long time favorite of all ages- the leftover milk after cereal! They paired this idea with French vanilla, giving birth to the Toasted Graham Latte.

As soon as the drink is handed to you, the smell of cinnamon toast crunch cereal envelops you. The French vanilla combined with the steamed milk of the latte really gives it the milky scent that other lattes simply don’t have. The fall drinks also have a revamped cup design full of leaves, pumpkins and acorns.

When I learned that the drink is modeled after leftover cereal milk- which I actually really don’t like- I was concerned that it would be too sweet and I wouldn’t like it. I was glad to find that it’s not too overwhelming. It has all the hints of cinnamon and vanilla without being sickeningly sweet. I am a fan of pumpkin flavored most anything, but if you’re looking for a milder drink, the toasted graham latte is a safe bet. I was pleasantly surprised, and I would definitely get it again.

It looks like the infamous PSL has finally met its match.
