Well everyone here we are, one week away from Thanksgiving. One week until the one day where we are actually encouraged to eat as much as physically possible.

But in this crippling anticipation don't forget that Thanksgiving is just as much about beer as it is about food.

In fact, Beer is a necessity for this holiday in my opinion. Whether it's to make you hungier, (or to make certain relatives seem a little less annoying) or to just make it a better day, a few beers will get you there.

So, (becasue we care about you) we created a list of the perfet beer parings for turkey day.

The Turkey = Smuttynose Old brown ale

Caramel, hops, malty bread, a hint of chocoalte: These dark and rich flavors native to Smuttynose go perfectly wth white meat. Turkey ,while a tradiotion ,can be bland. You need a grounded earthy beer to blance the flavor.

Mash potatoes = Sixpoint Brownstone

When you have a blander dish. you need a beer with a stronger hop flavor, a beer like Sixpoint Brownstone, which keeps the dark, earthy flavors but with a noticeable bitterness.

A slice of Pumpkin pie = Sweet Baby Jesus

Pumpkin pie is sweet and light. Bring some Yang to your Ying with a beer that is dark and heavy... and sweet......and amazing... and delicious. Sweet Baby Jesus is the perfect cap to your meal.

Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale- (because of the name)- complex, hoppy aggressive butwith a smooth and smoky taste from the oak.
