Countdown Day 6: Thanksgiving Cocktails

There are so many delicious foods at Thanksgiving that people often forget about the perfect accompaniment… booze!
With so many different beverage options, we decided to round up our favorite Thanksgiving cocktail recipes as you prepare for the holiday.
Mulled Sangria
1 bottle red table wine
¼ cup orange juice
¼ cup cranberry juice
¼ cup brandy
3 tablespoons sugar
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
Combine wine, juices, brandy and sugar in a saucepan over low heat and heat until the sugar has melted. Add the orange and lemon slices and let simmer for 5 minutes. To keep sangria warm, store in crockpot on very low heat.
Bailey’s Hot Cocoa
1 hot chocolate, prepared with milk
2 oz. Baileys
Sparkling Cranberry Refresher
2 cups cranberry juice
¼ cup sugar
4 oz. vanilla vodka
1 liter seltzer
1 orange, cut into wedges
In a pitcher, muddle the juice of the orange wedges into the sugar. Add the cranberry juice and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in seltzer and vodka and pour into glasses filled with ice.
Stone Wall
1 1/2 teaspoons Simple Syrup
1 1/2 ounces aged rum
1 1/2 ounces apple cider
1 1/2 ounces chilled ginger beer
1 piece of ginger
In a cocktail shaker, muddle ginger with the simple syrup. Add the rum and cider; fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into glass and top with the ginger beer.
