New York is a Little Less Salty

I came across this article from the New York Times about how starting this week, New York City restaurants will have to put high salt warnings on menu items that contain over 2,300 milligrams of salt. Right now, this new law is somewhat limited- it only applies to chain restaurants with more than 15 locations across the country, and the fine for not complying is a mere $200.
However, New York is still one of the leading cities in encouraging healthier cities. Mayor Bloomberg, during his time in office, worked to decrease soda consumption, trans fat, and smoking. This is Mayor de Blasio's first act targeting New York's food consumption, but it certainly a very healthy step.
